Prysmian Energy-Saving Cable Drying
Prysmian USA makes cable at its facility in Scottsville, Texas, where drying with compressed air meant high energy consumption and operational costs. SolvAir replaced it with…

Circular Air (CA) Knives are suitable for varied applications, such as cable or tube drying and plastics or rubber extrusion lines, where they effectively remove water after cooling baths.
The fully controllable 360° adjustable performance of CA Knives ensures no dead spots, and is particularly beneficial when processing circular products, as well as more complex extruded profiles.
Our range of CA Knives are designed for use with high pressure blowers, rather than costly compressed air, and can be used to remove coolants from the surfaces of formed or pressed sections and profiles.
CA Knives are available in stainless steel, aluminium and carbon steel, and come in a standard range of internal diameters plus custom sizes up to 450mm internal diameter.

We construct Air Knives to your requirements, in 10mm increments, up to 5.5m long in aluminium and 4.5m in stainless steel.
Yes. An Air Knife works on high-volume air at low pressure, and despite the name there is no cutting edge – no sharp edges on the blade or the housing, and the airflow will not cut you.
To create the high-intensity laminar air flow needed to clean/dry/protect the surface of objects, Air Knives must be precision-engineered to meet strict manufacturing tolerances.
Air Knives have a wide range of industrial uses, including removing, spreading or controlling liquids, drying, cooling, cleaning and bonding.
The blower that you need will depend on your Air Knife requirements, including length, gap settings and desired effect. Please consult SolvAir for advice.
If you already know your Air Knife length, gap and operating pressure, our energy savings calculator will suggest a suitable blower and show the running cost.
Better line performance and lower running costs, backed by an industry-leading warranty.
Industry-leading 3 year warranty is included as standard on all our energy-efficient, enhanced performance, cost-saving Air Knife Blowers.
We offer a 100% Performance Guarantee for all SolvAir Air Knife Systems. This means that you can be sure your System is running to the highest performance.
Our Air Knife Systems use around 80% less energy than compressed air, and typically cost around 33% less to run than competing centrifugal blower systems. Calculate your own savings.
SolvAir offers flexible equipment leasing in partnership with Shire Leasing, helping customers access high-performance systems without large upfront costs.
