Operators at the Northampton plant dried the rinsed parts by hand with a compressed Air Nozzle. The method used a lot of energy and labour, and the results varied from one operator to another.
SolvAir installed a Paxton 7.5kW high speed blower connected to two side Air Knives, which move up and down on a mechanism so the parts are dried automatically. Drying has improved and is consistent, the process needs no labour, and eliminating compressed air has brought energy savings.
