Paxton's collaborative engineering approach provides custom solutions for complex industrial cooling requirements.
Technical Devices makes Nu/Clean Inline Aqueous Cleaners for the PCB industry. A series of blower failures threatened a crucial client relationship in China, and Paxton’s engineers solved the problem with reconfigured blowers operating at reduced speeds with optimised airflow, which lowered operating temperatures by 15 degrees and eliminated the failures.
A series of blower failures in Technical Devices’ Nu/Clean Inline Aqueous Cleaners threatened a crucial client relationship in China. The client, which has PCB-manufacturing facilities there, had asked for a very high level of power, and the custom-specified high-power cooling systems repeatedly malfunctioned during operation.
The continuous blower failures compromised Technical Devices’ business relationship and operational reliability, and the client had expressed its dissatisfaction. Immediate intervention was essential to prevent further equipment failures and preserve client confidence.
Working in close liaison with the Technical Devices team, Paxton’s engineers tested the blowers in a setup simulating the cleaners and studied the failed blower heads, which pointed to bearing failures most likely caused by high temperatures.
Paxton’s engineers then built six new blowers, reconfigured to operate at reduced speeds with optimised airflow, and replaced the problem blowers at the client’s facility in China. This solution lowered operating temperatures by 15 degrees, eliminating failures and restoring system reliability, and the client went on to order additional machines from Technical Devices.
Paxton went above and beyond the call, not only fixing the problem, but working with our people hand-in-hand, helping us maintain an important end-user relationship. The TD machines now fully use the capacity of the blower for drying, and run cooler with no issues.
