SolvAir Sponsor Smithy Speeders F1 Team
Our Team at SolvAir were thrilled to receive a letter from Smithy Bridge Primary School, Littleborough, asking if we would consider supporting their school Formula One Team in an upcoming event.
Proud to support UK Engineering & Education
On 12th March 2024, SolvAir were proud sponsors, with Carbonlite, of the Smithy Bridge Primary School F1 Team – the Smithy Speeders - at the Schools National Final, Magna Science Exhibition, Rotherham.
Getting to the National Final meant that the Smith Speeders had to take on the impressive task of building a scaled-down Formula One car, including undertaking the research, design, construction and testing.
The National Final saw the Smithy Speeders competing against forty other teams from all over the UK, as well as two teams from Hong Kong! They demonstrated remarkable teamwork and ingenuity, culminating in the creation of an outstanding F1 car and race.
You can read more about the fantastic initiatives by F1 in Schools to enhance UK Engineering and STEM education through their website.
“We would like to say huge well done to the whole team for your achievements. We would also like to say a huge thank you to Solvair and Carbonlite for sponsoring our project and making it possible for us to attend this amazing event.”
